Sony LCD TVs hit problems

Sony announced yesterday that its Bravia LCD and rear projection television sets have been suffering problems.

The Japanese firm said that around 400,000 Bravia sets might contain a software glitch that causes them to malfunction after 1,200 hours of use.

Sony informed Reuters of difficulties with about 400,000 of the flat panel displays and rear-projection TVs in the Bravia or Grand Wega. They may have faulty software that could leave users unable to turn them off or bring them out of standby mode.
